Constantine invited 300 bishops to a council at Nicaea. Their purpose was to discuss the deity and nature of Christ and to end this dispute which had bust them apart.
In Alexandria around 300 A.D. a priest named Arius believed that the Son was not identical to the Father. He believed that the Father was the entirely one Who was eternal.
