The Korean alphabet is sorta harder than just the ABC. It has consonants, vowels, treble consonants, and double vowels. Alright let me show you
Consonants
?-g
?-n
?-d
?-R or L (this letter can be used for r or l)
?-m
?-b
?-s
?- compels no sound. Its only if a place holder. Youll see what I connote later. However, when position at the bottom of a excogitate, then it makes an ng sound for example in sarang (Korean for love) ?? see how the ? is under the ??
?-j
?-ch
?-k
?-t
?-p
?-h
Vowels
?- a (pronounced ah)
?- ya (pronounced yah)
?- eo (pronounced uh)
?- yeo (pronounced yuh) see how it works now?
?- o (oh)
?-yo
?-u (oo)
?- yu (you)
?- eu (like psyche punched you in the stomach and you go ugh)
?- i (ee)
Whenever a word starts with a vowel, you need a place holder so when writing ?(ah), you would write ? ( dumb just ah, remember, ? makes no sound unless placed at the bottom of a word). same goes for the other vowels (?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?)
You nevertheless with me so far?
three-fold consonants
Double consonants are still basically the same letter, just pronounced thicker and tougher.
These are the only double consonants
?- gg (sometimes seen as kk)
?- dd (sometimes seen as tt)
?- bb (can be seen as pp)
?- ss
?- jj
Double vowels
?-e (eh)
?-ye (yeh)
?- ae (like saying day w/out d)
?-yae
?-wae
?-oe
?-we (weh)
?-wa (wah)
?-wo (whoa)
?- wi (whee!!!h
?-ui ( mold ugh and i together)
make sure to put the place holder for these vowels as wholesome when writing them down (?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?)
so yeah....this is the Korean alphabet. Did you keep up with me???
This should make it easier for you when learning Korean and writing it down. Hope this helps.
very well for where to put ?, it depends the position of the vowel. If its standing up then you put it on the side----> ?? ???----> ? ? ? ? ?.
If its laying down then you put it on top-----> ? ? ? ? ? ----> ? ? ? ? ?
