Ju non Diaz is no different with his novel, The Brief Life of Oscar Wao, which gives insight to the life of a fictional Dominican. In a time where the Latino world is on a rise and gaining foothold in apprehension; Junot Diazs The Brief Life of Oscar Wao utilizes the main character to show the palpates of Latino communities in America. The novel rotates around the main character Oscar, it is not only though the main character where the Latino experience is shown. Oscars interaction and the fibbers description with his community gives the reader the image of a real Latino community. Everyone from his family to the girls he has crushes gives the reader an understanding of a Dominican. And it is through these details that we can see that Oscar and his community are much like any other group in America, that the experiences of other immigrant groups include those of Latinos as well.Oscars life as an teenaged transcended from the stereotypes that were held by other normal Dominicans.
