Naturally I could expect some learners to have previous experience of first aid (i.e. refreshers, service leavers etc.) but it could be that they lacked an official booking or that their certificate had expired. In these cases, as in the case of a novice learner, my subprogram would be to assist all delegates in achieving a recognised qualification which represented the skills and underpinning knowledge necessary to conduct themselves as designated, employment first aiders. This certification would demonstrate the candidate’s competence in this important area and curb that their knowledge and practices adhered to the championship designated by the wellness and Safety (first aid) regulations 1981.
Further to the responsibilities already stated, the preventive would be on me to fully brief the learners on topical legislation which relates to them and to those concerned with their assessment. Such legislation as the Health and Safety (first aid) Regulations 1981, Equal opportunities and related codes of practice and the Data tax shelter Act etc. would be discussed therein.




One of my most critical responsibilities, in my role as trainer/assessor, would be to ensure clarity about the course contents and targets; so that candidates were sufficiently informed on what to expect and what patterns the learning and assessment would follow. It would be vital for all delegates to be made aware of their private responsibilities in respect of meeting skill standards and general development throughout their progression on the course.
In summary; I would abide by all acts of legislation and codes of practice which were applicable to my role as a trainer/assessor of the HSE outgrowth Aid at Work course.
