That the technologies of today, which is intended to connect people, is actu ally making them estranged not only from others, but as well from themselves. I have to posit that my believeing runs parallel to hers. For example cell phones. Everybody has a cell phone, some people even have two. In my avouch experience, I have sat in my living inhabit with visiting friends, a phone rings, we all scramble to prove which one of ours it is, and asking is that yours or mine? Soon psyche elses rings, before long there are common chord people holding four or five assorted conversations, and if they werent talking they were texting. She sounds a bit nostalgic when she speaks of the urban childs root time at venturing into the city alone being like a rite of passage. Meaning that the new generation has confounded the ability to think independently, where as the previous generations, like my own, had to think their way through a situation. These days all one has to do is bring up the web on their cell phone or put an address into a GPS and they can get the information of something and not get illogical while getting there. Our reliance upon our technological gadgetry has become to a greater extent and more prevalent.
