Decisions on Ethical Dilemmas
Recently I have surpassed 24 years of force service in the United States Air Force. My personal set and ethics were originally formed in my youth and family upbringing. However, my phalanx service in any case formed a basis for my value and especially my views on ethics. In this paper I exit review and comment on two separate ethical dilemmas provided in my classroom textual matter book, Fundamentals of Organizational Communication. Additionally, I will provide an explanation of what I would personally do if I was actually involved with the hypothetical ethical dilemmas. Furthermore, utilizing schooling provided in our text, I will explain what should be done. Finally, I will identify the criteria I used when applying my ethical standards. Our text defines ethics as moral principles that guide our judgments about darling and bad, right and wrong, not just effectiveness or strength (Shockley-Zalabak, 2009).
The first ethical dilemma I decided to address is scenario four of our text (p. 126).
Per the scenario, Im working in the cooking department of a large hospital and Im tasked with developing a five-year report of the departments activities. My review uncovers that one training consultant to the department has been paying over $50,000 for approximately six training sessions a year. This lean is more than double what other consultants in similar training fields have been paid. after further investigation, I also discover the consultant is a special friend of my boss, he has no formal contract, nor has the consultant had any course evaluations. After asking my boss about the disparity in fees for this grouchy consultant, I was told it was none of my concern.
